Write it in my own voice

The tools assemble the raw material; the final pass—the touch that makes it truly mine—is the part only I can do.

The tools can do a staggering amount now. They'll gather the raw material, run the councils, hand you a version of almost anything you ask for.

But there's one thing they can't do. The last pass—taking the parts I like and using my own touch to make a version that's truly my own, in my own voice, through my own mind and heart. That's the part only I can do.

Read something and it stays information until you make it yours. Don't try to remember what it said; ask what you take away from it. The voice is the work. Keep it yours.
