Understanding isn't resolution

You can take an engine apart to find out why it squeaks, study every piece, put it all back together—and start it up to hear it squeaking still.

That's the hard truth about some problems. Understanding a thing and resolving it are two different things. Understanding it and living through it are different too. You can break it all the way down and it still doesn't come out fixed.

So don't confuse the diagnosis with the cure. Some squeaks you learn to understand, and carry anyway.
