Control only the present
The serenity prayer is really a question of what's actually yours to control—and the wisdom to know the difference isn't given. It's earned through action and experience.
The serenity prayer is inked on my back: the serenity to accept what I can't change, the courage to change what I can, the wisdom to know the difference. Underneath the words it's really one question—what is actually mine to control?
Some things aren't your problem to solve. What's mine is the present—the one thing I have control over. Focus there and act accordingly.
And the wisdom to tell the two apart isn't handed to you. It comes from action, from experience, from pattern-matching—from having lived enough to feel the difference.
