Science is consensus

Evidence-based practice is the current collective consensus, not fact—it's always changing.

Science isn't fact. It's collective consensus—our best read based on the studies we were able to run, the technology we had, and how far our thinking has gotten. It's what we believe now, and it's always going to change.

Think of it like a recipe. Someone says: these ingredients, in this order, with this timing, and this is the meal that comes out. Then other chefs try to make the same dish. If the same meal comes out, that's how you cook it. That is what peer review is.

So don't mistake today's consensus for the final word. It's the best we have right now, built to be built on—and meant to change.
