Gravity

Corruption, entropy, and bias are one force at three scales—the pull toward least effort. You can't out-willpower it; willpower is just more energy, and gravity wins the energy war.

There's one force underneath corruption, entropy, and your own bias—the pull toward least effort. The brain conserves energy, organizations sprawl as they grow, the economy rewards number-go-up. Same force, three scales. Call it gravity.

The hard thing, the true thing, is always the high-energy path—so the force always points away from it.

And you can't out-willpower it. Willpower is just more energy, and gravity wins the energy war every time. You can't fight nature. You can only learn to see it.
