Start with the problem, then go find the tool. Not the other way around. The tool never tells you what to build—the problem does.

I watch people reach for the newest, most powerful thing with nothing to point it at, and it just sits there. What do they need a drill for when they've never picked up any other tools? The ones who get somewhere aren't chasing tools at all. They're carrying a problem, and they pick up whatever solves it.
